I took this vid a few days ago
and have since found out
(thanks to my new friend from Santa Monica)
that there are shops here that do have large cabinets of dairy
like we do at home.
Phew.
I guess the difference in New Zealand is
every food shop (even the small pokey corner dairy in the middle of nowhere)
has at least one whole cabinet of the stuff –
(And we totally don’t know what to do with these tiny small bottles.)
One of the cool things about traveling
is you get to see different things …
different size milk bottles,
different looking cars
even different ways of riding on public transport
(here people sit in the aisle seat
and don’t move over to let you sit down
unless you ask them to… which I love by the way.)
And then there’s this Half and Half business.
Which I totally didn’t get at first.
Like, half what?
I was worried it might be half milk half water –
But no! It’s half milk half cream.
We should so do this back home (ahem, Fonterra)!
Here’s to cultural differences!
