We all have goals!
Which actually
is the very point to doing nothing
sometimes, because
the more you do nothing
the more your other non, non-doing goals
get done. Like painting the house
or starting the book you’ve always wanted to write
or oh my god, finally learning how to use Twitter.
Then there are the goals and life desires
you didn’t even know you wanted to do
Like who knew you wanted to go to the US and write a book
sell your house, buy the sports car or go camping for six weeks
with your boyfriend round New Zealand.
I can honestly say actively
doing nothing
is about the most productive thing
you can do. No question.
Don’t get me wrong
I LOVE actually DOING stuff.
But the doing
is always so much better
if in some way
there’s been some silence and not doing
around it.
Want to kick start 2012?
Try adding more doing nothing
to your day, week, year.
It’ll change your life.
If you haven’t done this before, here’s what I suggest:
try sitting for an hour
….
no reading
or talking
sending texts or checking FB.
Just sitting
or lying down
staring at the wall, not trying
to think any certain thing
just letting your thoughts come and go
as they please.
(And if you’re in the market for a super charge, try it for a few hours
or a couple of days. Holy gamolly!!)
