Creativity Tip #2: Do It Your Own Way
As in let your wonderful
creativity well up
whenever it blinking well likes
and do whatever it is you’re doing
in your perfect unique way –
even if it’s different to how everyone else
around you is doing it.
Yeah, I know
it seems obvious
so obvious, why am I making a video about it?
But to be honest, I reckon
most of the time
we all just kind of do things
how we see other people do them.
Even people who know about creativity.
It also works like this:
you want to do some project
say, write a song
or an album
here’s what I reckon
don’t go and think you want to make an album like such and such did.
NO.
Try sitting there and waiting
until your album comes up
out of the silence
or the middle of you
(however you want to look at it).
That’s doing it your own way.
Doing it Your Own Way
is what makes your album
better
than the one you think
you want to do it like.
