Don't Believe Everthing You Hear!

I had an unexpected adventure this week, and in case you like unexpected adventures as much as I do, I thought I’d share it with you.

My husband and I decided to have one of our Beach Work Day’s, as in take our little offices, laptops and so on to the beach for the day, and work … and swim a bit too …

Laptop, Sunscreen, sunny disposition Go!
(The last time we had a Beach Work Day it was mid summer and crazy busy. We foiled the crowds by arriving so early the sun had barely come up and we spent the first hour huddled under blankets to keep warm.)

At the end of the day instead of going home as we’d planned, and with no plans whatsoever other than a hunch that we should drive up the coast not back down it, we did just that.

We found ourselves in the most beautiful little cafe in the country, the kind that doesn’t take ‘plastic’ and you have to mail them a check when you get home. We enjoyed a magical sunset meal of home-cooked food and ‘car camped’ on the beach that night.

Ah. Here’s to unexpected adventures and following vague hunches!

But enough about me …

This weeks Altogether Easy tip:

You don’t always have to believe
what your mind tells you

You can choose which bits to believe
and which bits not to.

Like, when your mind says don’t cross the road when cars are driving by, you might want to listen to it, but anytime it tells you you’re not good enough – that’s the stuff you want to ignore – because frankly it’s just not true.

The choice to believe or not believe your mind
is one of the first steps to feeling good whenever you want.

And it can be tricky, your mind is very convincing. (You should hear some of the rubbish mine’s been telling me recently.)

Try it. Go on. Even once. Like now.

See if you can step back from your thoughts – just notice what your mind is saying, and think to yourself, oh wow, I can believe this if I want,  but I don’t have to.

Mwhah!
